A print from the 1990 book by S. Peter Dance titled Classic Natural History Prints - Birds. The artist was Frederick William Frohawk (1899).
When in Hawaii I photographed nene at Kilauea on Kauai. Our guide (Carl Berg) told us the nene was well on its way back from near-extinction due to a captive breeding program and subsequent releases. Here is a comparison of three nene images: a print by Frederick Frowhawk from the S.
