Laysan Honeycreeper - Fringillidae Hematione sanguinea freethi

A print from a painting by Reggie David purchased from Fine Art America. I grabbed copies of this and the next two images because they are such beautiful prints of Hawaiian birds. They are auxilliary to my Marian Berger collection.

Now extinct, there was disagreement about the Laysan Honeycreeper: was it a distinct species, a subspecies of the Apapane, or simply an Apapane.
