This image is a pure step-by-step following of suggestions made by Andre Gallant in his book Dreamscapes. The original image (below) was cropped, then greatly brightened (almost washed out). It was rotated 90 degrees at a time until I had four images, each in a different orientation. I then layered the four images and multiplied the layers together in Photoshop. A few final adjustments to brightness and saturation yielded the final image.
