Giclee Print by Marian Berger

I'iwi - Fringillidae Vestiaria coccinea

A Giclee dated 2010. The original won the Jurors' Choice Award in the 2009 Hawaii Nei art competition. I have four copies of this print: this 2012 Giclee, the 2010 Giclee, the 2009 Hawaii Nei poster, and the 2010 Hawaii Nei post card (the latter two can be seen under "Odds and Ends").

From the US Audubon Society website: "I'wis have one of the most widespread distributions of all native Hawaiian songbirds, occurring on the islands of Hawai'i, Maui, Moloka'i, O'ahu, and Kaua'i. Because of I'wis' propensity for seasonal movements in search of flowering trees, it is difficult to assess fully population trends for this species. However, it appears that I'wis are experiencing a population decline, except at higher elevation sites."
