Comparing Elepaio Prints

Beneath the horizontal line are:

First of all, there are considered to be (at least) three Elepaio species:
- Hawaii Elepaio - Pachycephalidae Chasiempis sandvichensis
- Oahu Elepaio - Pachycephalidae Chasiempis gayi or ibidus
- Kauai Elepaio - Pachycephalidae Chasiempis sclateri
These are fine distinctions between the three species, yes, but each of the three is considered a full species, not just a subspecies.
Jack's photo seems to closely match Marian's three images, except that the photo shows more brown on the leading wing edges (as opposed to black); Frohawk's first print (the Hawaii Elepaio) more closely matches Jack's photo in this regard.
The Elepaio are feisty little birds, reminding me somewhat (by behavior and shape) of the Black Capped Chickadee.
