Snowy Plover - Charadriidae Charadrius alexandrinus

Notice the shallow scraped nest with three eggs in it. The female courts the male, lays the eggs, and leaves when they start to hatch in order to court a new mate. The male sits on the nest, guards it, and watches over the precocial chicks for several days.
